It has been a while since actor Vin Diesel of "Fast and the Furious" fame has hinted at his possible involvement in an Marvel Inhumans movie. Actually it was before marvel announced that a film was being made, was he just trolling and happened to hit on a secret upcoming project? Or did our favorite movie street racer shift to soon (maybe purposely) with some inside information? However it happened it seems he is at it again posting the above image on his facebook page with no explanation as to what it means, lets explore the situation a bit more.
Back in on August 9th vin teased fans with a facebook post
stating "Vin and Marvel... you all made it happen! I get the strange feeling that Marvel thinks I'm Inhuman... Haha" now to any unknowing, everyday casual marvel movie fan this may seem like nothing or a reference to him doing the voice work for Guardians of the Galaxy's Groot (who is not a human) but to us Marvel buffs we automatically see this as a reference to the super hero group(or family more on them later) The Inhumans.
What is an Inhuman?: The Inhumans are a race of super powered(mostly) human/kree(alien) hybrids that reside in a secret earth location know as Atillan. Although all members of the race are considered to be Inhuman the name generally refers to the core comic group featuring Medusa, Karnak, Gorgon, Triton, Crystal, Lockjaw, and lead by Black Bolt. Most speculation is leaning towards Diesel taking up the role of the leader which seems very fitting for him in both appearance, fame and voice as Black Bolts power is the ability to kill/shatter cities with his voice . Given the fact that the Kree race has recently made an appearance in the marvel cinematic universe by way Guardians of the Galaxy's Ronan, and has been hinted at for 2 seasons on marvels agents of shied tv show it is a strong possibility that marvel has already clued vin in on things to come.
Diesel already has a relationship with marvel from providing the voice of Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy although his speech was limited to "I Am Groot" a few grunts and "We are Groot" it seems that he was very well received by fans and critics alike. It may seem taboo to portray two characters in the marvel cinematic universe (Chris Evens human torch in fantastic four produced by fox and Idris Elbas Moreau from Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance produced by Columbia do not count as they were not produced by marvel) Paul Bettany known (or unknown) for providing the voice of Jarvis in the Iron Man films is playing The Vision in the upcoming Avengers Age of Ultron flick although we do not know yet if Jarvis and Vision will be linked in some way to explain the similar voice. Surely it wouldn't be hard for Marvel to double up on an actor to play as one character who you only hear his voice and the other whom barley speaks.
With the big boom of comic book based films and the call for big name talent it almost seems as if these hints from Diesel have to hold some weight behind them. Especially since The Inhumans film has a release date of November 2nd, 2018 im sure at the very least talks are being conducted if not already in the final stages for locking down some of the roles. But there is always a chance we are being trolled or a hopeful actor is trying to gain some fast and furious support to nab a role hopefully we wont have to wait to long to find out because leaving fans in movie news limbo would be INHUMANE.
