Black Panther adds Michael B Jordan to cast

In a not so surprising turn of events its being reported by the hollywood reporter that actor Michael B Jordan (creed) will be joining the cast of marvels upcoming Black Panther film. This news comes hot of the heels of a possible casting of rising star Lupita Nyong'o (star wars the force awakens). What makes jordans casting come as no surprise is the fact that the writer/director Ryan Coogler has worked with Jordan in not only his last hit film creed but also on hi breakout directorial film Fruitvale Station. What makes jordans casting a bit more interesting is that he as well as now marvel hevey hitter Chris Evens have both previously played the role of johnny storm aka the human torch in a version of fox's fantastic four which also happens to be the comic book in which Black Panther was first  introduced in 1966. Can the failing fiery brother of sue storm be the launch pad of yet another MCU Successes? only time will tell as the details of his involvement are early and unknown. Ryan Cooglers  Black Panther opens in theaters July 6 2018 staring Chadwick Boseman.

Black panthers civil war debut!!!!

If you haven't seen civil war yet dont read any further, get up, get out, and go see it NOW!!!!! Go go!!! (spoilers ahead)

Im sure there has to be 100's of civil war reviews already so im not going to do that but i am going to give a mini review on black panther.

                                  T'challa
Man did chadwick B knock it out of the park. He came into the mcu with a strong performance capturing both the royal and dangerous side of t'challa. We also had a chance to witness the death of t'chaka which is apprently not carried out by klaw in the mcu (but maybe some yet to be seen connection) his death served as great motivation to launch the black panther into the fray.

                               Black panther
First off the costume looked great i was wondering how the predominantly black dudes would translate onto the screen but they did a great job making it look menacing, functional and not the least bit cheesy. From his first introduction we see just how deadly he is and how serious the mcu is handling the character. Showcasing superior speed agility power and fighting ability as he essentially takes on bucky cab and falcon on a high speed foot/car/bike chase through the streets. Later in the films big fight sequence we see panther mix it up with some of the mcu elite and never seems to be out of place i didnt get any of those "come on he is way to outmatched" moments  (im looking at you hawkeye) and never felt as if he was to over powered overall it was a great display of his powers and abilitys without revealing to much keeping some mystery to keep you wanting more for his solo film no doubt.

                 Final thought
Overall i am very pleased with the introduction of both t'challa and black panther and impatiently look forward to the release of his solo film i can only hope the king of wakana turns up in a film sometime between then just to keep the hype train and momentum going. Until then check out the new black panther ongoing comic by its just starting to heat up and hopfully can give us enough black panther action to hold us over

black panther date moved AGAIN!

The date for marvels black panther has bounced from year to year and still has not settled on a month recently being changed from its july 6 2018 date to February 16 2018. It seems that the ant man sequel has caused the bump in date the bright side is we will get to see t'challa im action sooner. With no director yet announced and no new casting information since the announcement of chadwick bosemen as the panther this is starting to become reminiscent of many "doomed" hollywood projects but marvel/disney has not failed me yet so lets hope things are moving along nicely.

Will the civil war be shaded by the spiders shadow?

As we all know Spider-Man is going to be making his MCU debut in next years Captain America 3: civil war. This is of course what we all wanted right? What is needed to at least have the story similar to its comic book counter part, but what does this mean for the original plans for MCU's civil war? There are many pitfalls now for Marvel to avoid while bringing in peter for his first mcu outing with a bunch of other costumed heroes. Using him just enough to warrant his inclusion while not using him too much as to overshadow the existing headliners cap and iron man is a very fine line. Im sure right now iron man and caps battle is on the top of everyone's list of reasons to see the film but as news of Spideys inclusion starts to spread and sink in he can easily become the major draw in to the film as we all have seen cap and iron man on screen together before (age of ultron will add to that).

Also marvel has already had a plan for a non spider man civil war film so how does this now change the movie we were going to get? How much universe altering has our web head caused? Also another concern is the inclusion of The Black Panther! this is also supposed to be a first in costume appearance from him. Now with spidey included we have 2 mcu first appearances in this film, will this affect Panthers screen time or impact now being 1 of many new heroes to the franchise? I would have to think at least some shine will be taken away by this.(black panthers shine???? place joke here)

Still with all the possible changes and screen stealing that spidey can cause im am glad he is finally home where he belongs and will ultimately in the long run enrich the stories we have all grown to love so dearly  Welcome home Peter !!!!!

N'Jadaka A.K.A. Erik Killmonger: Movies, The Mandarin, and everything in between?

N'Jadaka was a resident of Wakanda when Klaw attacked the country and enlisted the help (forcefully) of his father. When klaw was defeated and his father killed in the battle N'Jadaka was exiled from Wakanda when he took refuge in Harlem New York. It was here that he changed his name to Erik Killmonger and studied at M.I.T. while plotting his revenge on both Back Panther and Klaw. After contacting T'challa he was repatriated back to Wakanda and resided in a village which was named N'Jadaka after him. It was from here he decided to overthrow T'challa but after numerous small defeats he was eventually killed by Black Panther but that was not the last of Killmonger.
The Mandarin with the power of his rings claimed the body of Killmonger and was able to resurrect him for a new nefarious plot. With the destruction of a Wakanda based stark industries warehouse Tony and Rhodey travel to Wakanda to investigate this is when Rhodey is drugged and captured by Killmonger. Then in a battle between Killmongers forces and a life model decoy of black panther it appeared as if panther was killed which Killmonger blames on Tony and uses this to try to gain the support of the people of Wakanda. At this moment T'challa reveals he is not dead and defeats Killmonger in battle this prompts the Mandarin to recall the power of his ring and Killmogers is once again dead. This is not the very end of Killmongers story either being resurrected yet again but we will stop here for now to discuss how this is perfect for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Can this story fix Iron Man 3's Mistake!?
Obviously if you have yet to see Iron Man 3 for whatever reason please do not read on consider this your *********SPOLIER ALERT***************

A Sticky Web: What should Marvel do with Spider-man?

Spider-Man one of my all time favorite heroes is getting pulled apart by a daunting custody battle between Sony and Marvel. This ongoing negotiation has fans on a roller coaster of emotions (seems most are rooting for marvel to take full control) and even news outlets cant keep up with the litigations. Before I touch on what seems to be the main points for fans lets go over some of the alleged proposals for Spideys rights.

Ideas being tossed around such as Marvel gets to use Spidey in Captain America Civil War (Spidey, Cap, Iron man, Panther please please!) with Sony paying 25% of the films cost and getting to use two Marvel Characters in they're next Spidey movie with marvel putting up 25% for that film. Also Sony would be able to continue the plot of civil war in the subsequent Spidey movies as well being in control of Spideys costume, actor, and input on directors for anything Spidey appears in.
There is also a push for Marvel to use Spidey in infinity wars 1+2 and have to produce a Spidey film by 2019 the consequence if any of the movies miss the release date.....100 million in damages to Sony and full rights revert back. Its reported that Sony is also asking for promotion through marvels Parent company Disney. Talk about a hard bargain, from a business standpoint does Sony really have that much leverage with Spidey to warrant all the demands also does marvel need Spidey that much? but of course from a fan stand point WHO CARES JUST GET IT DONE!!!! so lets examine what's important to fans and the fan points.

Ok so what Should be fans cares and concerns? I'm sure Numerous things but lets touch on a few of the important ones.
  • Re-Rebooting: Should his character once again be rebooted with his origin being tweeked once more to fit the events of the MCU?
  • Actor: it looks like Andrew may be out so who should take of the great responsibility of being the new face of peter
  • The Age: what Spidey are we going for? with so much already happening in the MCU do we want a fresh just got his powers high school Spidey to greatly offset the older already assembled avengers or do we want a late collage peter already comfortable and seasoned as a hero.
  • Costume: With Spidey sporting so many Amazing digs is it time we get something fresh. I'm sure a great draw in would be the use of spider-armor which would be perfect for civil war for at least part of the film.
  • Peters Women: Lets face it part of what makes Spidey great is his life as peter but introducing  him in several films before his next solo bout we might not be able to see much of his personal life but if so who is most important Gwen? Mary Jane? Aunt May?
I have a lot of faith in Marvels cinematic capabilities and look forward to see how this all pans out. Which ever way this web of studio negotiations decides to swing I just hope Spidey fans climb out on top.

Black Panthers Movie Mask: how should it be done?

Full disclosure I am the type of fan who loves to see my characters brought to the big screen looking like they were ripped from the pages of a comic. I am also not opposed to minor changes which can help make the characters fit in a real world setting a bit but I am totally against swapping a whole teams outfit and mask for black matrix leather(obviously black panther already wears black so no problem there).

Why is Black Panthers mask important to marvel? well until now in the main marvel cinematic universe we have yet to see a fully masked hero. Thor wears a

Monica Lynne: Panthers first love (is she needed on the big screen?)

Monica Lynne a singer from Georgia who was saved by black panther from the sons of the serpent during his stint in the U.S. with the avengers. T'challa fell in love with Ms. Lynne eventually getting engaged and taking her back to his kingdom of Wakanda. Often opposed by his people Monica Lynne was the target of numerous assassination attempts and plots throughout there relationship causing countless break ups and make ups. It was not until she witnessed T'challa share a kiss with the X-mens storm that she finally called it quits for good (T'challa eventually marries storm but another time for that).

So Monica was his first love and has been a part of the panther story for a long time she ties in with a few of his great story's but the question is.....do we need her adapted into the big screen? If so when? its way to early to tell what direction marvel will go but with panther

Wakanda!! (part:1 a brief history)

Ok so its time to discuss the birthplace and home of Black Panther. The nation of Wakanda is a fictional land located in northeast Africa, where exactly? that's up for debate(another time for that). Wakanda was founded around 10,000 years ago under the rule of Bashenga believed to be the first Black Panther and an ancestor to our very own T'challa. Wakanda today is a remarkable technologically advanced civilization due to its many scientist and vibranium .....yes vibranium for those who don't know a quick rundown, vibranium is an ore found in great abundance in Wakanda due to an meteorite made of vibrinum which crashed in Wakanda some time long ago. It has a lot of unique properties such as being able to absorb and store energy due to impact, Which is why it was used to construct the iconic object Captain Americas shield (also black panthers suit is made of vibranium). Vibranium is also one of the main reasons the nation of Wakanda was raided and attacked so many times throughout its history prompting constant protection from its protectors of each generation. Wakanda is also home to many tribes and factions besides the Black panther cult(touch on that later also) so it is not without inner conflict by any means. Wakanda's appearance changes throughout the years and I am very interested to see how it will be depicted in the upcoming film that's all for now stay tuned for future post for a more in depth look at Wakanda and what to expect from the film adaptation

Batman vs Black Panther: Fanboy Faceoff

Very interesting debate comparing Batman and Black Panther.....we are not really big on face off wins determined by votes so the results are just fun at most but the facts to support each character are solid, well presented and entertaining from both Erin Robinson and Flitz in this video.

T'Chaka (Father of The Black Panther)

T'Chaka the former chief of Wakanda who aslo happens to be the father of T'challa the black panther. A skilled warrior and hero to his people T'chaka assumed the title of The Black Panther before being succeeded by his first born son t'challa after his death. Growing up under his father King Azurri (who at the time was black panther you see the trend here?) T'chaka aided in battles against the red skull with the help of captain America and nick fury. His death came many years later at the hands of none other The Klaw (our last featured character) which set forth the events that would lead his son T'challa to taking up the mantel as black panther and king of Wakanda.

Given that the character of T'Chaka is vital to the origin story of the black panther it wouldn't be crazy to assume that the team over at Marvel would include him in the upcoming black panther film. With that being said who would be great to portray the elder panther on the big screen? I would prefer a Strong maybe even well know actor (if the part is small) to bring in fan interest and give a solid launch point for Bosemen , But careful not to take the shine away from the main actor *cough Russell Crowe man of steel cough*.Also just how deep will they go with the ties between Nick Fury Captain America and the people of wakanda. Perhaps some flash back footage of t cap meeting a young T'chaka sometime during the world war? Its very possible that this can even be teased in the upcoming Captain America civil war film. Im hoping for more casting details soon as well as the villain announcements but until them we will keep exploring the possibilities

Black Panther Movies???(video after jump)

As we already know Black Panther will be appearing in the upcoming Captain America flick CIVIL WAR, but is there a chance he will be showing up in other films before the release of his own movie? Its been rumored that Bosemen has signed a 5 picture deal with Marvel studios and in a recent interview with Logan Lermen for Variety's actors on actors Bosemen when asked if there was a director for his upcoming film answered "theres a director on, you know the movies that im introduced". Yes he said movies.....mistake? maybe or will we be seeing alot more black panther sooner then we thought? Overall it seems Boseman has a positive outlook on marvel and a great respect for the character. Captain American: Civil War starring Robert Downey jr and Chris Evens is set to release May 6th 2016. The other marvel cinematic universe films slated to release before black panther are Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, and the 3rd installment of Thor:ragnarok staring Chris Hemsworth. What films if any do you think he will turn up in? There still is a chance of a cameo in the upcoming Avengers:Age of Ultron on May 1st 2015 i guess we will know soon enough check out the full video interview below

Ulysses Klaw!!

Ok lets dive into the dark side of the Panther universe starting with one of his greatest villains Ulysses Klaw or just Klaw. Klaw is a long time foe of Black Panther, once being hired to kill a young t'challa (an unsuccessful attempt of course) he suffered extensive damage to his hand which was later replaced by a klaw like device and fitted with a sonic blast emitter. Klaw has went up against the likes of the  Avengers, fantastic four and even spider-man on occasions. He was also inducted into an iteration of the evil super group the masters of evil proving his worth as a diabolical menace. With the help of a vibranium powered sonic converter device he was able to transform himself into a being of living sound making him even more dangerous of a force to be reckoned with. Rumors are that Andy Serkis (gollum from the hobbit) may be set to portray klaw on the big screen due to his involvement in the upcoming Avengers:Age of ultron movie. Serkis is a motion capture genius and his resent voice over work on the recently relesed star wars the force awakens trailer was amazing (but more on him later if he is actually paying klaw).
